Cover Reveals: Sworn to Raise, Never Too Far, and Dare You To

Sworn to Raise (Courtlight #1) by Terah Edun
Publication Date: March 15th, 2013
Publisher: Amazon Digital

Sworn to Raise

Goodreads Summary:
Seventeen-year-old Ciardis has grown up in poverty, a cleaner in a small vale on the outskirts of the kingdom. But beneath her kingdom’s seemingly idyllic surface lies a hidden secret. Whispers of an inept crown Prince are growing ever louder—intensified by the five year anniversary of the soulbond initiations.

Amidst scandalous whispers, Ciardis finds herself chosen to train for the Companion’s Guild. She leaves her home and sets off on a personal journey to become a Court Companion. A position she’d never thought possible for a lowly servant to obtain, she must prove that she has the skills to attract a Patron.

But she must master those skills quickly. If the legends are true, only Ciardis can harness the power to raise a Prince in an Imperial Court sworn to bring him down.

This sensational series debut melds intricate storylines with remarkable characters and unforgettable magic. Sworn To Raise is ideal for fans of Kristin Cashore, Michelle Sagara, and Maria Snyder.

Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2)

Goodreads Summary:
"I dare you..."

If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....

Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.

But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....

I think some of you may have seen Dare You To's cover but I just recently found the cover for it so I wanted to share it with you guys!! I mean look at, the rain and the couple totally clashed up. And the cover for Never Too Far? Its so intriguing and fits a book of Abbi Glines. Oh and I wish I had the red dress the girl on Sworn to Raise's cover is wearing.

What do you guys think? Comment!

Review: Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Opal (Lux, #3)Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout
382 Pages
Release Date: December 18th, 2012
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Genre: YA Paranormal/Sci-fi
Rating: 5 STARS

Goodreads Summary:

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

MY THOUGHTS:
**BEWARE: CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM OBSIDIAN, ONYX, AND SOME MINOR ONES FROM OPAL*

Noooo!!!! The ending!!!! I mean Katy and Daemon and Dee and Dawson and Beth and DAEMON!!!!!! That wasn't supposed to happen! I need Origin…but it’s coming out in June. *finishes ranting*

*takes a deep breath* Sorry about the ranting, I’ve been dying to get that off my chest. One word to describe Opal? Exhilarating. My heart was pounding faster and faster throughout the entire book. Jennifer brilliantly wrote Opal with more seriousness than Obsidian and Onyx but did add humor to lighten to lighten up the plot and of course with romance as usual! You could easily see the differences in the characters from the beginning of the series to now.

The one person that changed the most in my opinion is Dee. In Obsidian, Dee was the sweet, hyper, and lovable girl but Adam’s death took a big toll on her and now she’s all up for payback, revenge, and killing people. And that is soooo not Dee. Dawson is another character that changed and from what he had to endure, I’m not surprised. He’s broken and it didn’t help that Daemon and Dee kept hovering around and expected him to be normal. Katy did her best to relieve the tension between Daemon and Dawson and helped as best as she could. Now, the one character I would like to hand to Daemon to beat the crap out of: Blake >.< I’ve been having sudden urges to punch him and GRRR he annoyed me to death in this book and had this very creepy Edward Cullen moment O_O We also meet a new secondary character: Luc, he’s also like Katy and Blake and helps Katy to free Beth. I would describe him as the nerdy, young, video-gamer, with amazing hacking/tech skills.

Now what you guys really wanted to hear about….the ROMANCE!!! Aaaahhhh!!!! DAEMON AND KATY ARE SOOO SWEET TOGETHER AND I’M HAPPY THEY FINALLY GOT TOGETHER!!!!! And don’t worry they still bicker and infuriates each other to no ends. But it’s so cute!! Oh my god, right now I feel like a grandmother, that always gives hugs and pinches peoples cheeks, talking about her grandchildren…now that I actually wrote it out, it seems really weird. Ignore my weirdness and let’s continue talking about DAEMON and Katy!!! And while there are many action scenes in this story, there are many steamy Kaemon (yes, that’s my couple/ship name for them) scenes so do not worry fellow Lux fans! But as other couples Daemon and Katy do have their ups and downs, especially when it comes to Dawson’s and Katy’s safety.

Another thing I would like to talk about is Dee’s and Katy’s friendship. Things have been quite rough and tension-filled between them ever since Adam’s death. Sometimes I get annoyed by Dee’s new attitude and feel like pulling my hair out, but at the same times I totally understand where she’s coming from. Now that both, Dee and Ash have been besties of some sort when they mourned Adam’s death, its hard for Katy to see that Dee has someone to lean on and that she lost her best friend. As time goes by, I really do hope Dee and Katy become as close as they were before and maybe Ash too. She’s actually really chill and cool in this book and that says something.

Opal is the perfect read and one of my favorite J.L.A book. So all you Daemon-loving, DOD haters, and alien craziness lovers who loved Obsidian and Onyx…Opal will leave you speechless and wanting for more. And I will admit I did shed a few tears at the end, so readers watch out! But all J.L.A fans would truly be impressed and satisfied with Opal.

1. Daemon Black from Onyx (Lux 2) and Opal (Lux #3)  by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
You CAN'T NOT love Daemon. And the first book said everything about him:
“Beautiful face. Beautiful body. Horrible attitude. It was the holy trinity of hot boys.” ~Obsidian
Opal (Lux, #3)

2. Adrian Ivashcov from The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2) by Richelle Mead.
He's hilarious, hot, and aroogant but still very sweet:
"You make me want to become something greater than myself. I want to excel. You inspire me in every act, every word, every glance. I look at you, and you’re like… like light made into flesh." ~The Golden Lily
The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2)

3. Aiden St. Delphi from Deity (Covenant #3) by Jennifier L. Armentrout.
Boy J.L.A sure does know how to create swoon-worthy guys...

Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1)

6. Alagan Dhiren Rajaram A.K.A Ren from Tiger's Destiny (Tiger's Curse #4)
by Colleen Houck
SQUEEE!! Ren is just too amazing and he's made me cried countless times during this series...
He seized me as boldly as a tiger captures his prey. There was no escape. And I didn't want to. I would have happily died in his clutches. I was his, and he made sure I knew it. My heart burst with a thousand beautiful blooms, all tiger lilies. And I knew with a certainty more powerful than anything I'd ever felt before that we belonged together. He finally lifted his head and murmured against my lips, "It's about bloody time, woman.” ~Tiger's Quest
(Sorry for the long quote!!)
Tiger's Destiny (The Tiger Saga, #4)

7. Four from Insurgent (Divergent #2) by Veronica Roth.
"His skin is slippery with water and he smells like sweat and my shirt sticks to his arms when he slides them around me. He presses his face to my neck and kisses me right above the collarbone, kisses my cheek, kisses my lips. I love you, too,” he says.” ~Insurgent
Awwww!!
Insurgent (Divergent, #2)

8. Lucas Delos from Dreamless (Starcrossed #2) by Josephine Angelini
“She decided that if Lucas was gay then she was going to have to get a sex change operation. He would be so worth it.” ~Starcrossed
TRUE DAT
Dreamless (Starcrossed, #2)

9. Patch from Finale (Hush, Hush #4) by Beca Fitzpatrick
And now that I have you, the only thing that terrifies me is having to go back to that place. Having to want you all over again, with no hope of my desire ever being fulfilled. You’re mine, Angel. Every last piece of you. I won’t let anything change that.” ~Finale *swoons*
Finale (Hush, Hush, #4)

10. Tristan Archer from Avow (Archers of Avalon #3) by Chelsea Fine.
“His dark hair was still wet and fell around his head in a tousled way that was too sexy for his own good. Scarlet wanted to run her hands through it - but oh wait. That could kill him.
Definitely too sexy for his own good.” ~Avow
Avow (The Archers of Avalon, #3)

Waiting on Wednesday! #14

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine where you have a chance to let other know what you can’t wait to claim as your own.

This week's pick: The Rising by Kelley Armstrong
                            Release Date: April 9th, 2013
                            Publisher: HarperCollins

                                                         Goodreads Summary:

The Rising (Darkness Rising, #3)Things are getting desperate for Maya and her friends. Hunted by the powerful St. Cloud Cabal and now the Nast Cabal as well, they’re quickly running out of places to hide. And with the whole world thinking they died in a helicopter crash, it’s not like they can just go to the authorities for help.

All they have is the name and number of someone who might be able to give them a few answers. Answers to why they’re so valuable, and why their supernatural powers are getting more and more out of control. Maya is unprepared for the truths that await her, but she’ll have to face them if she ever hopes to move on with her life. Because Maya can’t keep running forever.

With all the twists, thrills, and romance that have made Kelley Armstrong an international bestseller, plus the surprising return of some fan-favorite characters, The Rising will hold you under its spell long after the breathtaking end.

Oh my god, I just have to say that the over model for both the second and third book is sooo pretty!!
And I would love if the characters from The Darkest Powers series would have a cross over with this book, it would be AHH-MA-ZING!! And I most definitely need to know what happens to Maya!
