Synopsis
Some things are worth waiting for…
Traveling
thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old
Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years
ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to
her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place,
not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few
friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she
didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who
could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.
Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron
Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a
pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she
believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away
from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and
that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved
with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks
whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of
her she never knew existed.
Some things should never be kept quiet…
But
when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to
face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge
that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything
changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time
with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down
with her?
And some things are worth fighting for…
WAIT
FOR YOU is available now!

everything—contemporary, paranormal, and fantasy. All of her books have one
thing in common no matter the name or genre: kissing… and stuff. When she’s not
busy writing, which is never, she’s usually hanging out with dog Loki, watching
reruns of The Walking Dead, or procrastinating on the Internet.

This week's WoW: Requiem by Lauren Oliver
Release Date: March 5th, 2013
Publisher: HarperTeen
Goodreads Summary:
After rescuing Julian from a death sentence, Lena and her friends fled to the Wilds. But the Wilds are no longer a safe haven—pockets of rebellion have opened throughout the country, and the government cannot deny the existence of Invalids. Regulators now infiltrate the borderlands to stamp out the rebels, and as Lena navigates the increasingly dangerous terrain, her best friend, Hana, lives a safe, loveless life in Portland as the fiancĂ©e of the young mayor. Requiem is told from both Lena’s and Hana’s points of view. The two girls live side by side in a world that divides them until, at last, their stories converge.
I'm kinda iffy on this one sine it's in both Hana'a and Lena's
POV but THAT ending!! I NEED to find out what happens!!!

it's almost
time for war.
Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.
She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.
Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.
In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life.
LETTER TO THE AUTHOR:
Dear Tahereh Mafi,
If you're reading this, then I would probably get a heart attack and spazz around. And if you're not, you're still a magnificent and brilliant writer. I would seriously read anything you write, including a text book. A bit too extreme? ...Naaahh! You make words fly across the page as if every so single word belonged there as if fate brought then together to e piece by you. Just the way both Shatter me and Unravel Me was written and how well it flowed plus Juliette's thoughts in her journal AWED me. I have no idea how you do it but PLEASE CONTINUE! And while I would love to say more but it would probably be more than a page to get all my feelings down. Anyways, thanks for being an awesome person and writer!
P.S If I ever see you, will you please deface my copy of Unravel Me?
~Taherah :)
*WARNING: THERE ARE A FEW SPOILERS FROM SHATTER ME AND UNRAVEL ME*
Without further ado...
MY THOUGHTS:
Unravel Me had everything a reader could ask for, the action, the romance, the twists OH MY GOD! YES, THE TWISTS!, the awesome characters, and the kickbutt plot!! Juliette's finally free yet she still feels caged up and I mean to can't blame her. And then she finds out Adam's power it causes a rift between them. While Juliette's reasoning is understandable it hurts seeing the characters getting affected by it. Tahereh Mafi then drops a jaw dropping, holy cow! What did he just say?bomb secret on us that makes things a bit awkward for Juliette but really entertaining for the readers. Or at least it was for me. Tahereh effectively manages to write an action filled plot that had us perked up the entire time.
Juliette is one of the most genuine and realistic dystopian heroine I've read. The only problem I had with this book/Juliette was how withdrawn she got in the first half of the book. But it also helped develop her character and also a big shout out to Kenji for giving Juliette a big reality check. It may have seemed harsh but she needed that.
It was actually pretty weird seeing Kenji as the "big man on campus" or well Omega Point and being serious. But at the same time it fits him and you gradually get accustomed to it. And don't worry he's still as flirtatious and hilarious as always. I do wish we saw more of James though. I miss hearing him talk. Although, I think it's great that he's making friends and becoming a part of something he's wanted to do.
As for the romance...well, there's a lot to it. Adam is a sweetheart and fantastically amazing! They both have a bond and history together. And then there's Warner...who's just as amazing and heart touching. And I know I've said this before (Don't blame me! Blame the authors for creating two swoonalicious guys!) but I won't be choosing who I was Juliette to be with because that's a HARD decision, so I'll let Tahereh Mafi have that honor and I'll just go along with whatever happens!
Warner. 1st: He has a beautiful first name which should only be reserved for Juliette. 2nd: Warner is such a different person than he was in the first book and there's a side of him that only Juliette can reach. 3rd: His feelings for Juliette are genuine which makes things even harder because I love Adam and I don't want either of them getting hurt. 4th: I totally see why the Epic Reads girls made such a big deal out of Chapter 62.
I have only one thing left to say: READ IT!! You most definitely don't want to kiss out on it and you won't regret it! And if you have yet to read Shatter Me, I suggest you start! This book is for any book lovers out there!! Happy Readings!!

Splintered by A.G Howard
371 Pages
Release Date: January 1st, 2013
Publisher: Amulet Books
Genre: Retelling/Fantasy
Level: YA
Rating: 4.5 STARS
Goodreads Summary:
This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of a mystical under-land, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.
When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.

MY THOUGHTS:
DARK. CREEPY. TWISTED. ENTRANCING. CREATIVE.
That's all you need to know...
That's all you need to know...
Splintered by A.G Howard was most definitely the loopiest and craziest roller coaster I've rode/read. A.G Howard did a splendid job writing this creepy and dark retelling of Alice in Wonderland. I actually don't think I read the original Alice in Wonderland..or I have but I don't remember it that well. Anyhoo, A.G Hwoard had me captured as soon as Alyssa found the "rabbit hole" and accidentally brought Jeb with her to Wonderland. She manages to get the reader's attention with her awesomley twisted characters in Wonderland and all the tests Alyssa has to pass.
As most YA heroines, Alyssa was determined to get the cure to the curse. I will admit I was weirded out with her bug/nature whispering bit. She was also a bit dense and annoying at times. But she was also pretty brave especially through everything she's been through. The beginning of Splintered also confused me because I wasn't sure if this her childhood or present plus everything happened so quickly. But A.G Howard ends up wrapping everything around gets you back on track.
Then there's the romance which was a BIG and I mean BIG hype on Twitter about this *cough* Nikki and Inky *coughs* It also led to waging Nerf gun wars...I think. So I was most definitely excited to see what Splintered had in store for me. First off, Jeb is a CUTIE and an amaaazing best friend. A+J=Awesomeness. And usually the "best friend" that's in love with the MC has no idea what's going on with their fantastical lives well at least to some extent. Sorta? (See what I did there, fantasy and adjective *nudge* *nudge*) and isn't usually considered a "threat" but in this case...he really is. But then there's Morpheus A.K.A "Moth" and at first he seriously creep-ed me out..a lot. But then he's also pretty sweet and both he and Alyssa have some kind of history together. But for now I'm going to stay out of this romance and just go with the flow XD
Splintered is a a book full of twists that you'll never see coming and will most definitely have you wide eyed and jaw dropped. In this eerily, sinister retelling of Alice in Wonderland, many readers will be enthralled by this creatively tale A.G Howard managed to weave together. I totally recommend this book to re-telling lovers or just someone looking for a good book to read. Happy readings!!

WHAT INSPIRED DANIELLE TO WRITE HEART WAVES:
Thank you so much for having me as a guest today. I’m very excited to have this opportunity!
What inspired the Heart Waves series? I’ve answered this question many times, and always with the same answer, I got the idea for Heart Waves as I was writing For Always, at first I thought they were the same story but I soon realized that wasn't the case. While this answer is true, it is also incomplete. It’s not that I didn't want to answer the question fully, but until recently, I didn't realize how much more there is to the answer.
The first book in the series, Heart Waves was inspired by few events. I wanted an instant connection between the main characters, much like the instant connection I had with my husband when we first met. Unlike Jenna, I didn't predict he’d break my heart, instead I knew he was the one. I tried to recapture some of the light hearted fun of young love.
And anytime I think of love at first sight, or an instant connection, I think of Romeo and Juliet. I didn't want to write a simple retelling of a story retold hundreds of times. I started to think, would anything change and if so how, if Juliet knew their story would end in tragedy? The argument could be made that she did. After all Romeo was a Montague and a sworn enemy of the Capulets. But I thought if that knowledge was there from the beginning, could she still hand over her heart so easily? For Jenna, it wasn't easy, but Reece gave her no choice. He was everything she wanted, everything she could ask for.
The tragedy that strikes in the beginning of Breaking Waves was taken from an experience I had my senior year of high school. I lost someone very important to me, and most of my friends couldn't grasp the depth of my pain, or the impact this had and would have on the rest of my life. In this book I tried to convey not just the heartbreak, but the loneliness, the feeling that there is no one else in the world who can understand what you’re feeling.
As for the third book in the series, luckily I can’t say that anything from my life inspired it. Jenna will have some tough decisions to make moving forward. She’ll learn exactly where she stands on love and loyalty. But if you've enjoyed the first two books, I know you’ll love the third one just as much!
MORE ABOUT DANIELLE:
Danielle Sibarium grew up as an only child of divorced parents in Brooklyn, New York. Her imagination was developed at an early age. Surrounded by stuffed animals and imaginary friends, she transported herself into a fantasy world full of magic and wonder. Books were the gateway between her play world and reality. On any given summer afternoon she became Snow White sweeping and cooking for the dwarfs, or Cinderella waiting for the prince.
Danielle always loved dialogue and in elementary school began writing plays and short stories. This is when she began to understand she could not only bring her fantastical world to life for herself, but she could enchant others as well. And so she wrote. She wrote and wrote and wrote.

This week's WoW pick: Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza
Release Date: March 12th, 2013
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books
Goodreads Summary:
Mila 2.0 is the first book in an electrifying sci-fi thriller series about a teenage girl who discovers that she is an experiment in artificial intelligence.
Mila was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was a girl living with her mother in a small Minnesota town. She was supposed to forget her past —that she was built in a secret computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.
Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology. However, what Mila’s becoming is beyond anyone’s imagination, including her own, and it just might save her life.
Mila 2.0 is Debra Driza’s bold debut and the first book in a Bourne Identity–style trilogy that combines heart-pounding action with a riveting exploration of what it really means to be human. Fans of I Am Number Four will love Mila for who she is and what she longs to be—and a cliffhanger ending will leave them breathlessly awaiting the sequel.
1) PLL totally stole Mona 2.0 from this book :P
2) Uhhhh look at that puuuurty cover with the stuff
on the side of the books
3) I read Mila 2.0: Origins of Fire and I'm even more interested in Mila's story

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Leah Clifford currently lives in Ohio, but frequently dreams of finding an abandoned mansion in the south that she can restore. In her spare time she loves to travel and has been known to drive over two hours to get kickass quesadillas. So far for jobs she's sold corn at a roadside stand, been a pizza delivery girl, a camp counselor, an extreme cave tour guide, a flight attendant, a waitress (x3), a grocery store clerk and a writer. Out of all of them, writing has been the most fun. She's pretty sure she's gonna stick with it.

Mackenzie "Max" Miller has a problem. Her parents have arrived in town for a surprise visit, and if they see her dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings, they just might disown her. Even worse, they're expecting to meet a nice, wholesome boyfriend, not a guy named Mace who has a neck tattoo and plays in a band. All her lies are about to come crashing down around her, but then she meets Cade.
Cade moved to Philadelphia to act and to leave his problems behind in Texas. So far though, he's kept the problems and had very little opportunity to take the stage. When Max approaches him in a coffee shop with a crazy request to pretend to be her boyfriend, he agrees to play the part. But when Cade plays the role a little too well, they're forced to keep the ruse going. And the more they fake the relationship, the more real it begins to feel.
