Goodreads Summary:
Seventeen-year-old Vane Weston has no idea how he survived the category five tornado that killed his parents. And he has no idea if the beautiful, dark-haired girl who’s swept through his dreams every night since the storm is real. But he hopes she is.

Seventeen-year-old Audra is a sylph, an air elemental. She walks on the wind, can translate its alluring songs, and can even coax it into a weapon with a simple string of commands. She’s also a guardian—Vane’s guardian—and has sworn an oath to protect Vane at all costs. Even if it means sacrificing her own life.

When a hasty mistake reveals their location to the enemy who murdered both of their families, Audra’s forced to help Vane remember who he is. He has a power to claim—the secret language of the West Wind, which only he can understand. But unlocking his heritage will also unlock the memory Audra needs him to forget. And their greatest danger is not the warriors coming to destroy them—but the forbidden romance that’s grown between them.

This book. Is magical. It is everything you could ask for from a paranormal romance. Sarcastic, funny, sexy, with a strong stubborn heroine and and equally as amazing hero, itt has action, mystery, and just general wonderfulness that I can't get over. Let the Sky Fall is up there on the same level as The Infernal Devices and Lux Series and so so many more spectacular books that are like my Holy Grail(s).

Now that I've been super vague lets dive right in! I love the mythical species used in Let the Sky Fall. You always see vampires, werewolves, demigods, etc but not once had I ever heard of a sylph. Now I looked up sylph on Wikipedia because thats what one does when one doesn't know something, apparently they aren't very well known or used often at all because all the definition I got was an air elemental associated with fairies. But damn, Shannon Messenger fills in all the details. Basically they are beings of air with their bodies being their only connection to earth, and they can control and speak to wind. There are 4 types of winds (and sylphs) North, South, East, and West each with its own personality type. Each type of wind has its own language and if you know them you can control the wind and even combine different types. Its all pretty epic, actually.

Then the dual POV. I usually despise dual POV, with a passion. I always find myself liking one person better and being generally irritated when in the other's but not with this one. Both Audra and Vane have such strong and stunning personalities I enjoyed reading both equally. I also really love how Shannon Messenger makes Vane, well, a guy. She made his personality and the way he thinks very much like I imagine a real guy would and that made him a very believable character. He really acts and talks like an average teenage boy. Vane is very lovable and adorable from the first moment. Audra however, takes a little to warm up to because of her hard exterior. She is so wonderfully complex and it was really cool watching her grow and peel back her layers.

Another reason I LOVE Let the Sky Fall is there is no love triangle. I mean sure, they get in their own way plenty of times and the Gales act sort of as a 3rd person that it could be taken as a love triangle. BUT IT ISNT! And thats what matters. They are both so real I feel like I know them. But I swear I have never had a more anticipated kiss. EVER. I have never ever wanted two people to kiss more than I want them to. It is INTENSE. I know it probably doesn't feel like it but I a freaking out. Like dying in a puddle of feelings because someone reached into my chest and shredded me feelings to bits just big enough that I could feel them ache, in like the best "Omg no no its not over, give me MMMOOORRREEEE" way.  I cant say anything more without exploding in spoilers (this books has A LOT of them) I can just leave you with these parting words: Read it. You won't regret it.
