Goodreads Summary:
I have a plan.
We'll either destroy them for good, or they'll destroy us.
Either way, only one of us is walking away.
In the stunning conclusion to the wildly popular White Rabbit Chronicles, Alice "Ali" Bell thinks the worst is behind her. She's ready to take the next step with boyfriend Cole Holland, the leader of the zombie slayers…until Anima Industries, the agency controlling the zombies, launches a sneak attack, killing four of her friends. It's then she realizes that humans can be more dangerous than monsters…and the worst has only begun.
As the surviving slayers prepare for war, Ali discovers she, too, can control the zombies…and she isn't the girl she thought she was. She's connected to the woman responsible for killing—and turning—Cole's mother. How can their relationship endure? As secrets come to light, and more slayers are taken or killed, Ali will fight harder than ever to bring down Anima—even sacrificing her own life for those she loves.

~The Queen of Zombie Hearts~
Caitlyn CroweSooooo...I LOVE COLE SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH
Taherah Abbas
That boy can make anyone fall in love with him seriously
Caitlyn Crowe
SAWOON! Seriously though. That boy. Mmm.
Taherah Abbas
nods Agreed. He's protective and sweet and understanding(ish) and just gorgeous.
Caitlyn Crowe
I'm like 85% positive that Cole has replaced William Herondale as my #1 YA love
Taherah Abbas
Both are on my top 5 (but no one could beat Adrian Ivashcov <3) :D
Caitlyn Crowe
But honestly all the White Rabbit Chronicle books are so funny and amazing and gorgeous and funny and sexy and wonderful.
Taherah Abbas
YAAAS!! Ok going to the actual story, Queen of Zombie Hearts was waaaaay different than I expected and literally went right into the action within the forst few chapters. It was like BAM, BOOM, GO MELT IN FEELS, AND START WORRYING LIKE CRAZY
Caitlyn Crowe
I REALLY REALLY LIKED THAT THOUGH BECAUSE LAST BOOK WAS SO EMOTIONALLY TRAUMATIZING THAT I NEEDED TO JUST BE THROWN RIGHT IN BECAUSE I LOVE THE FEELS AND ALL OF IT 10000%
Taherah Abbas
It was just different. I'm not sure if I loved it or not but I didn't hate it. It was just unexpected. But oh god if I was standing and reading, I would have been pacing the entire time
Caitlyn Crowe
For most of it I literally curled up in a little ball to read it. And if anyone came into my room I glared at them till they left.
Taherah Abbas
Hearing about and reading about everyone who died and seeing how Cole especially reacted to that broke my heart. AND OMG WHEN KAT DIED, I WAS CRYING AND IT WAS AT NIGHT WHEN I WAS REALLY SUPPOSED TO BE ASLEEP AND I JUST COULDNT TAKE IT
AND THEN SEEING HOW FROSTY ACCLIMATED TO THAT JUST BROKE MY HEART ALL OVER AGAIN
Caitlyn Crowe
OK I LITERALLY READ THIS IMMEDIATELY AFTER HEIR OF FIRE SO I WAS STILL SUPER EMOTIONALLY DRAINED BUT I HAD TO KEEP READING AND I WAS JUST BALLING MY EYES OUT AND THEN FROSTY AND I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO BECAUSE KAT
Taherah Abbas
I KNOW I KNOW SHE WAS THE CRAZY YET NORMAL ONE OF THE BOOK THAT LIGHTENED THE STORYLINE WITH HER RIDICULOUS (BUT CUTE) DRAMA WITH FROSTY AND SHE WAS ALI'S FIRST FRIEND. THE ONE WHO SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN HURT AND SHOULD HAVE HAD HER HAPPY ENDING WITH FROSTY D;
Caitlyn Crowe
SHE SHOULD HAVE HAD HER HAPPILY EVER AFTER. SHE AND FROSTY SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN MARRIED AND HAD KIDS WHO WERE SASSY AND STRONG AND CHEEKY AND WONDERFUL AND EVERYTHING GOOD ABOUT THEM BECAUSE KAT WOULD BE A GREAT MOM AND FROSTY WOULD BE SO OVER PROTECTIVE AND THEY'D STILL GET IN A LOT OF FIGHTS BUT THEY WOULD ALWAYS MAKE UP AND GODDAMNIT KAT DESERVED IT THE MOST
Taherah Abbas
And these are the times when you love the author for writing such as amazing book with awesome characters but also curse them for their evilness (intentional or not)
Caitlyn Crowe
Yes. Because I love Gena Showalter. I would read her grocery lists (thats a little extreme and creepy but you get my point) but man, I really hate that Kat died. It was cruel.
Taherah Abbas
:/ It was but I guess it was bound to happen. OK OK can we talk about Ali's mom and her relation to this whole thing?
Caitlyn Crowe
I kinda suspected that one just based on the synopsis (and I hate it when that happens) but it was trippy. And I mean just think, Ali totally could have been part of the gang from the very beginning if her mom hadn't gone to Anima
Taherah Abbas
It's weird thinking about it like that actually....It would have changed everything. But I hated how it strained her relationship with Cole. It was easy to see it from both POVs bc hey her mom did kill Cole's ( I think that's what happened at least) but Ali also knew why and IT WAS JUST FRUSTRATING
Caitlyn Crowe
I knoooooooow I just hate seeing things that push them apart like that especially rational things. Because I mean, it's her mom and everything was done for her but his mom was killed as collateral. BUT THEY GOT THROUGH IT AND THATS WHAT MATTERS COLI (alole? both of those are gross...maybe Colice?) FOREVER
Taherah Abbas
That they most certainly did! (This is totally off topic but Cole's note at the end of the book was awesome XD)
Caitlyn Crowe
I always love Cole's notes. ALWAYS. Everything he has to say is wonderful. And if it isn't then Ali will put him in his place.
Taherah Abbas
dreamy sigh Why isn't there a Cole IRL? It would be great
Caitlyn Crowe
I would totally date him. Or try to at least.
Taherah Abbas
Yaaaaaaaas (maybe, depending on how intimidating he is at first glance)
Caitlyn Crowe
Ok yeah that's true. Basically I'd see him, get intimidated and then go off and date him in my head while an Ali dates him.
Taherah Abbas
Yup basically unless I was already friends with him (somehow) then totalllyyyyyyy
Caitlyn Crowe
Back on track! I thought I would hate when Ali lost her memories more than anything else in the world. But I was actually ok with it, kinda. BUT BUT BUT I LOVED HOW SHE STILL KINDA LIKE/LOVED COLE EVEN THOUGH SHE COULDN'T REMEMBER HIM. EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS TOLD HE WAS TRYING TO KILL HER SHE TRUSTED HIM
Taherah Abbas
I actually never worried about that (at least as much as you did) but it all worked out nicely and I'm just glad her not remembering took a lot less of the book than I expected
Caitlyn Crowe
YES it was only like two chapters and I thought it would be like half the book
Taherah Abbas
Yuppppp
Caitlyn Crowe
5 STARS FROM ME
Taherah Abbas
Dittto!
