The room shuddered. My stomach lurched, and I slapped my palm against the
wall to stabilize my legs. From somewhere far above us, the clank and clangor
of gears and cables and who knew what else vibrated beneath my palm and through
my feet.
“Are we . . . moving?” My fingers clenched against the wall,
trying to find something to grip.
“The technology was lost after Rebirth, but Kalla’s penchant for tall
