Goodreads Summary:

What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic’s wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic’s highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country’s most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths—until the day June’s brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family’s survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias’s death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

Ohmysweetgoodness I love this book! Legend by Marie Lu is so badass, and awesome! Its one of those books I truly believe everyone will like...no matter what. The world is so...different from ours yet it seems like something that could (potentially) happen. The characters *cough* day *cough* are amazing! I reread Legend so often and it never gets old because no matter how many times I've read it I always see a different side or line or phrase that makes it seem new and exciting...because it is. The plot is amazing and there are just so many twists I would never in a million years have seen coming! I also love how you never actually see Day or June till they see each other. And you kinda discover them as they discover each other (well not each other but once they meet each other). Marie Lu is a genius, Legend is an amazing book!

I'm going to start with June! She is really smart and snarky and amazing but she isn't a goody goody. She doesn't blindly follow orders nor does she stay out of trouble like many people in her situation would. She always has to figure out things for herself before she takes them as fact. Her comprehension skills and her eye for detail constantly astound me. The fact that she almost never lies to herself is awesome in itself! I love her, she kicks ass and does what she has to do to live with herself and what she feels is right. It is so amazing and sweet and wonderful how much she loves Metias! I just have to mention again her attention to detail... she is just so amazing. And wonderful. And gaaaaah, she's just awesome!

NOW, DAY! *dies* Oh, Day Day Day Day Day! I love that boy, I really, really do. He is so SO spectacular! He is a lot like June on the respect that he has an insane eye for detail and is kick ass and nimble and awesome! It is also really amazing all the things he did to military ships and things all by himself! He is so smart and insane and I just love him! He also loves his family more than anything in the entire world, he and June both do. He would do anything for his mom and brothers. He is so strong and awesome! He is the most noble criminal I know and damn if he isn't the best either! I seriously love him!

SO this book is bad ass! Day and June kick ass! The writing is awesome! The plot AMAZING! Marie Lu is a god. You should read this book I recommend it to anyone and everyone! It is so fast passed and there is never a dull or dragging moment! The characters are really smart so there are very few headdesk moments. I don't know any other way to describe this book other than f---ing fantastic! (yes its so good it warrants a curse word) You should read this book! Its good! I know I'll be rereading it soooooooon!
