Goodreads Summary:

It's an oppressively hot and sticky morning in June when Sterling and her brother, Phin, have an argument that compels him to run into the town swamp -- the one that strikes fear in all the residents of Sticks, Louisiana. Phin doesn't return. Instead, a girl named Lenora May climbs out, and now Sterling is the only person in Sticks who remembers her brother ever existed.

Sterling needs to figure out what the swamp's done with her beloved brother and how Lenora May is connected to his disappearance -- and loner boy Heath Durham might be the only one who can help her.

This debut novel is full of atmosphere, twists and turns, and a swoon-worthy romance.

Ok, first of all don't you just love the cover? Its so mysterious and dark and fits the book so well. I think its really cool. So this book isn't out yet but I had the privilege of reading it early and I honestly think you should add it to your to-read list. Like right now...Beware the Wild...Its just so different from a lot of the other YA books out there (or at least from what I read). It's like...paranormal but not and fantasy but not but also kinda contemporary(and also a mystery). Its really fast paced and soooo cool. Like theres a swam. A MAGIC swamp. Thats  haunted. And its not like wizards magic or anything but this really different kind that reminds me of swamps. This might just be because I think swamps are really awesome, but its also so well tied into the story. This book is filled with mystery and magic and romance and its a really, really good read.

So. Sterling. She's pretty badass. I mean...she has emotional issues right from the get go (which is understandable considering how shitty her dad is). But I think they just add so much depth to her. Sometimes she doesn't think things through and stupidly runs into situations she didn't have to but she redeems herself by completely throwing herself into finding her brother even if people think she's crazy. That's what  love about Sterling. A lot of people, once they realized other people didn't remember Phin would back down and stop being so pushy about getting information quickly and go for the sneakier route which takes waaay more time. But Sterling kept pushing and pushing the issue. She confronted people and she did everything in her power to get her brother back as quickly as possible. She's also really smart!

Now Heath. The summary makes it sound like they don't really know each other but they do. They had a thing (kinda) before this point. And Heath is the perfect character for Sterling. He goads her on when she needs a push to get started on some things and holds her back when she goes too crazy. Heath is really sweet and reckless and calm and just all around amazing...soooooo......now Phin. I just want to tell you guys PHIN IS AMAZING. HE IS LIKE THE SWEETEST MOST AMAZING BROTHER TO STERLING AND JUST <33333333 I totally understand why Sterling puts SO MUCH effort into getting him back.

Beware the Wild is mysterious and amazing. It has a creepy swamp and people who are taken by the swamp and then completely forgotten about because of the swamp's magic. Its so erie but there are also really fun and sweet moments. Definitely a must read in my book. So, I hope you enjoy. Byeeeeee
